Zimbabwe death toll increases from cholera epidemic

The death toll from the cholera outbreak in Zimbabwe soared to almost 800 people according to reports this morning.

The spreading cholera, coupled with drastic food shortages, has highlighted the economic collapse of the southern African country and prompted renewed calls for Mugabe’s resignation from leaders across the world.

The WHO reported that 774 Zimbabweans had already died from cholera and that more than 15,000 were likely infected with the deadly disease.

In other news a court ordered police to find a missing rights activist, piling more pressure on President Robert Mugabe’s beleaguered government.
